Stripping

iSS Total Rack Management offers stripping solutions for both tooling and steel part recovery applications. We have the capabilities to strip paint, remove grease and oil, de-rust, and remove virtually any coating from steel surfaces of all shapes and sizes for tooling, racks, and parts recovery. We will help you manage the difficulties associated with paint systems, from dirt to excess paint build-up. By routinely cleaning these products, we can help maintain consistency and quality in your process while avoiding low yields due to dirt and other complications. Our stripping services have been purposely designed to efficiently clean your paint system and return it to you in a timely manner.

If you have a rejected part due to a finish defect, we can help. Our process effectively removes paint and other coatings from your parts and provides you with clean, raw parts that are ready to be coated again. This process allows you to recover a product that may have otherwise been scrapped. Our removal services go beyond just paint. We provide removal of other surface contaminants and nuisance materials that affect your ability to finish a product. With our cleaning resources we can remove rust, oil, grease, laser scale, mill scale, and heat treat scale. We can also eliminate calcium build-up, weld burn marks, adhesives, and more. Our goal is to produce a clean, like-new surface that is ready for your next step, whether it is painting, plating, or clear coating. We continue to maintain the highest product-quality standards and exceptional turnaround capacity throughout our applications, meeting the demands and exceeding the expectations of our customers.

Thermal Stripping

Thermal stripping is a method of cleaning that is utilized on ferrous substrates for both tooling and parts recovery. Our burn-off process is a safe and effective way to remove coating and heavy build-up from durable metals. The iSS approach to thermal stripping differs from most. We cater our thermal process specifically to your product, providing quality results and preserving the life of your tools by ensuring they meet your original specifications. Thermally processed products may be further cleaned using a chemical pickling system and high-pressure wash, followed by a water-based rust inhibitor application to prevent oxidation and flash rust. Our vast amount of resources enables us to manage your large products and high volume parts in a time-effective manner that fits your needs and your schedule. The standard completion time is 24 hours, but special arrangements can be made for high-priority orders. Our focus is on our customers and we will work with you to meet the demands of your schedule.

Media Blasting

Our media blasting services can be utilized on virtually any ferrous or non-ferrous substrate. When thermal or chemical stripping does not work on your product for any reason, media blasting may be a suitable solution. For materials that are heat sensitive or subject to chemical concerns, we offer a media blast process that can remove your unwanted coatings and provide you with a clean product. Media blasting is a highly effective method for removing light coatings, mill scale, or corrosion, leaving you with a clean surface that provides excellent adhesion.

Rack Maintenance

Paint tooling is a long-term investment for your company. That’s why we focus on extending the life of your tooling by providing an ongoing gauging and maintenance program. Effective utilization of this program enables us to provide you with tools that have been gauged and part-checked to ensure 100% density, helping you get the most out of your tooling.

Along with our ongoing programs, we can also provide maintenance and repair services for your paint rack carriers and material handling carts. Our goal is to make it easier on you by helping you manage and maintain your paint tooling system.
